The decisions that you make today creates your future. Hebrews 6:12 reads, “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (KJV). If you decide to eat two pieces of pecan pie today, it may be pleasant, but later you might have a stomachache and you will be miserable.
What I’m trying to say is this… Everything you are presently doing will benefit your present (today) or it will benefit your future. You may make a lot of decisions today. Some will bring pleasure for you today, but tomorrow you may be miserable over those decisions. Some of those decisions may make you uncomfortable today, but tomorrow you will be full of joy. Say, “Today I will make decisions that will benefit my future.” It’s a good policy to make decisions that will create the future that you desire. Jesus could have called ten thousand angels to save Him from crucifixion, but he made a decision in the garden of Gethsemane that created a blessed future. He was willing to go through a season of pain to create an eternity of gain. 2 Corinthians 4:17 reads, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (KJV).
Those who can wait usually win.
Every decision that you make impacts your future.
