A worldwide shaking is plainly visible. Jeremiah 10:10 reads, “But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation” (KJV). King David wrote in Psalm 66:7, “He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves.” Hebrews 12:25-29 reads, “See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.”
Great changes are taking place in the world today. Nations all over the world have been shaken. There is, however, a kingdom that cannot be moved, and the believer in Christ is in it. There is no power that can destroy it. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (KJV). The rock is Christ. In the midst of all the world’s shakings throughout the centuries, Christ’s kingdom survives. It is the only kingdom that is destined not to fall. Christ’s kingdom is permanent. Christ’s kingdom will never be overthrown. The apostle writes, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace [that never stops working, that never fails], whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” Don’t quit now, and don’t give up.
