Strong Delusions Are Upon Us

Paul tells us that strong delusions will be coming and people will believe them (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). The psalmist prophesied that rulers will rage and that they will reject Christ’s rule (Psalm 2:1-3). The book The Da Vinci Code is one of the strongest lies of this present age, and people are believing it. There is a serious Christ-rejection spirit in the earth. God declares that Jesus Christ is His Son (Psalm 2:6-7; Luke 3:21-22).

1 Peter 2:21-22… “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth” (KJV). Peter teaches that he was an eyewitness to the life of Christ. Note, Christ did no sin. These words should be a vital part of our lives, because we know that they are true (Luke 1:4). It is one of the most important truths of our faith, that Jesus Christ did not sin in His work on earth. What is Peter saying to us? He is saying, “I was an eyewitness to the life of Jesus on this earth. I witnessed that life firsthand. I traveled with Jesus a full three years. In all that time I have never seen Jesus cave in under pressure. I never saw Him make immoral advances to women, rail against other people, make threats, fabricate a story, or manipulate a business transaction. I never saw Jesus walk in the lifestyle of unredeemed souls.” Jesus did no sin. Peter never saw Jesus make promises and then manipulate His way out of them, and Peter never saw Jesus say one thing and then do the opposite. Peter says, “We witnessed Him at close range. We saw Him when He faced difficult situations. We saw Him mistreated, criticized, misunderstood, hated, abused, lied about, and persecuted, but we also saw see Jesus full of God’s glory and presence. We saw Jesus filled with the love of God, full of compassion. We heard no profanity; we always saw Him in full control of Himself. He was honest, kind, and merciful. He was never insecure. Jesus always walked in honor and integrity. Peter says, “I was an eyewitness and I found no deceit in Jesus. Jesus did no sin.”

Peter witnessed the ascension of Jesus (Luke 24:48-51). He never saw Jesus marry Mary Magdalene. Peter never saw Jesus moving to France and living in a castle and raising a family. Yet today thousands of Christians are believing the lies of the book called The Da Vinci Code and they are falling away from Christ. There is a book to believe. It’s called the Bible. The Bible closes with the truth in Revelation 22:11-12“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” (KJV).
