Most believers want what the Spirit does, but they do not know Him. They want to be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. The word “filled” basically means “crammed full.”
a) Ephesians 3:19… “Filled with all the fulness of God” (KJV). In other words, filled with the contents of God, or filled with the Lord’s characteristics such as mercy, grace, compassion, and love. John 1:16 reads, “And of his fulness have all we received.”
b) Colossians 1:9… “Filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” (KJV). The Spirit shows you God’s will for your life. Every Christian must know God’s will for their lives.
c) Philippians 1:11… “Filled with the fruits of righteousness” (KJV). In other words, filled with a holy lifestyle, plus the fruit that righteousness brings.
d) 2 Corinthians 7:4… “Filled with comfort” (KJV). The Holy Spirit is the Comforter; He gives you aid, help, grace, peace, and rest. Jesus said that the Comforter will be in you and with you (John 15-16). He will be in you with power and anointing and with you for whatever purpose or need you might have.
e) Romans 15:14… “Filled with all knowledge” (KJV). Filled not so much with “head knowledge,” but with the knowledge that the anointing brings you (1 John 2:27). The anointing puts you in a position to know. Let the Holy Spirit bring you the words that you need.
f) 2 Timothy 1:4… “Filled with joy” (KJV). This is the joy Jesus gives, happiness enjoying kingdom life. The Lord is your exceeding joy (Psalm 43:4).
g) Romans 15:13… “Fill[ed] . . . with all joy and peace“ (KJV). You must know that God is in control. You must be able to relax; fear should no longer be controlling your life. Faith abides within you.
