Reflections

PASTORAL REFLECTIONS… Matthew 13:44… “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field” (KJV).

All kingdom ground is going to be contested by the devil. Christians who have kingdom vision will build the church in spite of that (Matthew 16:18). Proverbs 29:18 reads, “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed” (The Message). “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (KJV). True vision leads people by serving and not by taking authority. In true vision, everything belongs to the Lord. Many take away Jesus’ ownership and make it their own. He is Lord; we are servants and we are to be faithful, with this comes a responsibility. With true vision, you will love whatever the Lord assigns you. Love what God gave you to do. Are you moving to another city? Jeremiah 29:7 tells you to “seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” You are there by God’s design. God determines the time and the exact place for you to live (Acts 17:26).

NO ONE EVER SPOKE TO ME OF MY SALVATION… said a dying man. A visitor had been led by the Holy Spirit to this dying man. He was led to see his sinfulness and fearful doom, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was very surprised, and he said, “No one has ever spoken to me about the saving of my soul.” Many believers will tell a sick person to go and see a doctor. Many would take them some food if they are hungry. If they were ragged and shabby, someone would have given them some clothes. But if their souls were miserable, poor, and blind, hardly anyone pities them enough to tell them of Jesus. How often we talk about the weather, about the work place, about bad accidents, or about a political situation? But honestly… do you ever talk about Jesus, about eternity, or about a Bible verse? With the leading of the Holy Spirit, talk to someone soon. You may save a soul from death.

ADMONITIONS… Don’t give God instructions. Just report for duty. If God is your copilot, swap seats. Don’t change the message, let the message change you. The will of God will never take you to where the grace of God will not protect you. Has God given you a task? Remember this: the task ahead of you is not greater than the power of God behind you. Finally, be fishers of men. You catch them and God will clean them.
