Imbalances And Extremism In The Church, Pt. 1

1 Timothy 1:3-4… “As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do” (KJV).

Society is full of far-out doctrines and beliefs. This is not a new thing; far-out doctrines filled the times of the apostles and it was there all through church history. Whenever the gospel goes forth in power, heresies come in like locusts to devour the harvest. Heresies refer to self-willed opinions and teachings that are off course, a departure from the truth. When believed, they eventually are considered as truth. Lies can be disguised as the truth. There are many scriptures that speak of this.

2 Peter 2:1-2… “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of” (KJV).

1 Timothy 4:1-2… “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from what we believe; they will follow lying spirits and teachings that come from demons. These teachers are hypocrites and liars. They pretend to be religious, but their consciences are dead” (NLT).

Jude 3-4… “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ” (KJV).

1 John 2:18-19… “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us” (KJV).

Galatians 1:6-8… “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (KJV).
