(Part 2 of 2)
Mark 9:46… Jesus says of hell, “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched” (KJV). Isaiah 66:22-24 says, “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” This comes after the Great White Throne Judgment, the judgment of lost souls, in Revelation 20:11-15. This will happen to those who reject Christ if they die without knowing the Lord. People desperately try to cover their ears at the message of hell… but hell is real.
Revelation 14:10-11… “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name” (KJV). Job 18:5-21 describes the calamities of what the unbeliever will go through–“the place of him that knoweth not God” (v. 21). Verse 15 says, “brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.” Verse 17 tells that people who perish in their sins have no new name…
Matthew 25:41… Hell is forever. “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire” (KJV). Revelation 14:11-13 reads, “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.” It’s no wonder Jesus warned in Mark 8:36, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Jesus was very serious about hell. Hebrews 9:27 reads, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Jesus was right… There is a place called hell, and when people arrive there, it is forever.
People say, “But God is a God of love.” Yes, but God is also a holy God. It is true; God does not want you in hell! Because God is a God of love He sent Jesus to earth to die a cruel death on a cross to pay a price for your redemption. Romans 5:8 reads, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (KJV). If you reject God’s gift of eternal life, one day you will find yourself in hell.
It will be your choice. Don’t wait until you die to find out the truth about hell. Tomorrow will be too late. Don’t die without Jesus. It is simple to turn your life around. Realize that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23). Realize that you can’t save yourself (Isaiah 64:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5). Look up the scriptures that tell how Jesus died on the cross for you (1 Peter 2:24, Revelation 1:5-6). Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior (John 1:12, Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16). Finally, ask yourself, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation” (Hebrews 2:3, KJV).
Christians, many of your loved ones are without Christ. God has given us a way to rescue the lost… the simple gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.
