Truth Inside Of Me

Psalm 51:6… “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom” (KJV).

The devil doesn’t want you on the junk heap. Some people have the idea that the devil wants people to be the worst specimen of humanity possible. Not so… He wants people to be the best specimens of uprightness, pillars of the community, morally clean… with one exception. He wants you to live that way without the life of God inside you. The devil doesn’t care about outward appearance, but he will not tolerate your soul’s link with God or the Lord Jesus Christ.

When the devil tempted Jesus, he didn’t try to change His outside appearance. He still wanted Jesus popular, esteemed, a miracle worker. What the devil really wanted was to crack the interior, His link with the Father, until the inside of Him crumbled. We are mistaken if we think that Satan wants us all to be alcoholics or con men. He wants us to be outwardly acceptable. Most of all, he wants to cut off your lifeline to the Father. He jumps for joy when your link to God dries up for lack of use. He is ecstatic when he sees you having a form of godliness and lacking in power (2 Timothy 3:5). He himself poses as an angel of light, a master hypocrite masquerading as one of God’s chosen messengers, all the while possessing nothing of the life of God.

What am I saying to you? Don’t break your link to God by an impure heart. Don’t give the devil a hold on your life by an impure inside. An impure inside could be the sin of pride, hate, unforgiveness, resentment, lovelessness, indifference, lies, cheating, adultery, or a filthy spirit. These are the deadly things that the devil wants to see in your heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do” (NLT). The Lord wants you strong in the inner man. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees because the inside of their cup (heart) was full of greed and excess (Matthew 23:25-26). We are living in crucial times. Keep your link with God intact. Don’t crack and crumble on the inside.
