Ephesians 5:16… “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (KJV). Sooner or later everyone runs out of time. Perhaps much sooner that you anticipate, you will be the silent guest at your own funeral. After the ceremony, you will be given a final farewell and buried. The retirement that you spent all your life saving for will be gone. Your personal belongings will be gathered up and given to a charity. You attended a lot of funerals in your lifetime, but for some reason you never expected to be lying in a casket yourself. People have witnessed to you about your soul, but you said, “Maybe someday, but not today.” You have even said it to the Lord. Sooner or later everyone runs out of time. Paul states that everyone has an appointment with death and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The only time that you can decide whether or not your death will be a blessing, is today, when you are still alive. 2 Corinthians 6:2 states, “Now is the day of salvation.” Today is the day to do the Lord’s work in your life. Do it with all your might, for in the grave there is no working, no planning, no knowledge, and no wisdom (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
Sooner or later everyone runs out of time… but no one runs out of eternity. Today, listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying… (I sense that this is a word of the Lord for someone.)
