Dream-Vision

I had just finished my prayer time, and as an afterthought said, “Lord, I need some inspiration for my soul. What’s going on today?” (Job 32:8). Early in the morning of January 5th, I found myself in a dream-vision. It was very vivid. In the dream-vision, I was assisting in a service, leading the people in worship and exhorting. The people began to worship and praise the Lord, so much so that the presence of the Lord came down and filled the place. The people, awed and humbled, began to reach out to Him. Then the other leaders came down to me and said, “We are gathered to raise money,” which cut off the worship. The Holy Spirit was deeply grieved and God’s Presence lifted.

One by one, the people began to leave, and after a while I got out my car keys and left also. I too was grieved that money had become the most important part of the meeting. The Lord said to me, as I was leaving, “Many of my leaders gather people only to receive large offerings, not realizing that when my Presence descends to meet the needs of the people, offerings will come too.” Jeremiah 22:13-17 reads, “Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work; That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion. Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him? He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD. But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it” (KJV).

I quickly searched my own heart also, asking, “Lord, am I ministering for personal gain or am I ministering to help?”

Why are you ministering?
