God has ideas for church. Note Psalm 51:16-17… “For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (KJV). Many in the end-times scattering have a broken and contrite spirit. They do not have the robotic spirit that millions of churchgoers have. Proverbs 15:8 and Hosea 6:6 teach that you can go to church as often as you like and do your religion (sacrifices), but if your heart is unchanged, your worship is meaningless. Matthew 12:7 teaches us that a religious service without mercy (the meeting of human need) is rejected by God.
Many preachers are very defensive about their local assembly, and so they should be, but they also do not see the depth of apostasy that has crept into their midst. They preach against the churchless believer. Is it because they can’t get at their tithes and offerings? Are they jealous of the churchless believer because of their liberty? Are the believers who move by the Holy Spirit a threat to their authority? Many people in the end-times scattering are not easily deceived. They are the Lord’s servants, who are called by Him and sent out by Him and are not tied down by unanointed leaders. Wherever they go, God’s grace is in them, and the Holy Spirit dispenses His grace through them. They are scattered and sown by the wind (the Holy Spirit).
This scattering that I am seeing may be that the Holy Spirit is driving believers out of dead churches into a place where they are being made ready for a fresh awakening that our land needs right now. There is a fresh song arising. These scattered saints are finding their way into higher places in God, feeding on His Word and being enlarged by the Holy Spirit. Many leaders today imagine that nothing can be done unless it is done through their local church. Their mentality seems to be that the anointing doesn’t abide in the churchless believer. Many scattered believers do not like to be without a church home. They know that it’s not an ideal situation, but it is better to sit out than to be systematically stifled or destroyed by the “drip-feeding” that many assemblies offer. The people of the end-times scattering would love to be part of a real loving, teaching, vibrant fellowship, but they have no desire to join a system that imprisons them and holds them in bondage, a system that puts you in a place to be ruled but not nurtured and protected.
The future is bright. There’s a new song arising with the oil of joy He’s anointing His children. The music He gives sets the nations free. I believe, if I have heard the Spirit correctly, the present-day scattered believers are at a turning point in history, in the forefront of perhaps a great revival that is upon the horizon. With the present local assembles being in a powerless stance, the Lord will use the scattered believers in His own way, in His own time, and on His schedule. Something marvelous is happening, if you can see prophetically. The scattered believers will fill the churches of tomorrow. We are in the end times. The Lord’s fan is in His hand. He will abandon the deadly form of “churchianity” and bring out something extraordinary to challenge the evil society in which we live. Is there not a cause (1 Samuel 17:29)?
This message is written to encourage the scattered believers. This is not a message to encourage those believers who leave good sound churches free from deception. This scattering that I am speaking of is not a destructive thing, but a positive fresh wind of the Spirit to recover some of the precious treasures of Scripture that have been hidden for years and years underneath layers of church dust. Old Testament history tells of many potential leaders who were hidden in the backwoods by God. Then, in His time, a fresh wind arose and the land received the change.
