Ecclesiastes 10:5-7… “There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth” (KJV).
This present world’s system is designed to put the sinner on the horse and make the righteous walk as slaves. God designed it so His people would be the head and not the tail. Today, it’s a known fact that the criminal, the lawless, and the unconverted have taken God’s people as prey. Those who murder, steal, rob, rape, rage, break into homes, and flaunt immoral lifestyles have made decent people afraid to be out on the street–the wicked are ruling and the righteous live in fear. The wicked are riding; the righteous are walking. The righteous have submitted to the torments of the wicked without so much as a whimper. Once the elderly walked streets safely and children played without fear. There was a time when the nation knew that pornography was wrong and that homosexuality was a grievous sin. There was a time when people kept their word. It’s time for the righteous to get tired of “walking” and cry out to God for boldness and courage to face up to evildoers. The early church in Acts 4:29-31 prayed, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness” (KJV).
The book of Esther shows us the schemes of the wicked. God positioned Esther and Mordecai in strategic places to rule and give guidance to the political rulers of their day. Today, God is positioning many righteous people in high positions both in business and in government. He is raising up influential righteous preachers to lead the way. However, there are many “Hamans” threatening to destroy God’s people. Psalm 2:1-3 teaches that the heathen are raging. They stand together to reject Jesus Christ. Nations attempt to appease them through compromise, but Psalm 2 teaches that God has ordained His Son to rule and to have dominion.
Esther 3:1… “After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him” (KJV). The Hamans of this world may make the laws, but it’s Christians who must promote righteousness in the land.
Esther 3:2… “And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence” (KJV). The Hamans of this world want everyone to bow down to them. It’s in their best interest if they gain control over the behavior of the righteous. The Hamans of this world desire to humiliate righteous people. God’s righteous need to see the evil intent of those who demand “rights” for the lifestyles which are in direct opposition to God’s Word. Righteous men and women don’t usually get elected if they oppose sinful lifestyles. Judges do not get promoted if they go against the wishes of the wicked. Mordecai refused to bow down to Haman. Mordecai bowed down only to God. This is the position righteous people must take. May God give us the courage to stand. We can’t live in denial… wickedness is out there ready to devour us.
